Walter F. And Betty Doviak Die At 88 And 84

A Memorial Service celebrating both their lives will be held on Saturday.

Walter F. Doviak, age 88, and Betty Doviak, age 84, of the Holiday City West section of Berkeley Township both died peacefully at home recently.

Mr. Doviak on December 22, 2015 and Mrs. Doviak died on January 20, 2016.

They were both born in New York City, and also lived in the Bronx, California and Saddle Brook before settling in Holiday City in 1992. Mr. Doviak was U.S. Coast Guard Veteran of World War II. He was a printing machine serviceman for many years, most recently at Addressograph Multigraph Inc., Teterboro, prior to his retirement in 1987. He was a Friend of Bill W. since 1961. He was a member of the Art Association, and the Barn Art Club of Ridgewood. Mr. Doviak taught art at Felician College, Lodi, and at home for many years.

A registered nurse for many years, Mrs. Doviak worked for Hackensack Medical Center prior to her retirement in 1990. She was a member of the Women’s Club of Holiday City West, and was a Friend of Lois since 1961.

Mr. Doviak’s sister, Caroline Pafumi, died in 2014. They are survived by their daughter, Kim Van Hassel and her husband Doug of Ringwood; their nephew, Walter Kerr and his wife Janice, and their children Walter, Jennifer, Harry and Brian; their niece, Fran and her husband Tony, and their children Cara and Rachel; their nephew Neil and his wife Sandy; and their extended family, Audrey and Jimmy Aguilar.

A Memorial Service celebrating their lives will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River.
