Weather Reschedules Veterans Day Ceremony In Berkeley

The flag naming and covered dish dinner will now be held next week. Attendees must register online.

BERKELEY, NJ — The flag naming ceremony and covered dish dinner for veterans in Berkeley has been postponed due to potential weather.

It will now take place on Nov. 16, Mayor Carmen Amato shared on social media.

The flag naming and prayer will begin at 4:30 p.m. at Bayville's Veterans Park.

Run by local realtor Anita Morris and her team, the plan is to honor all veterans of Berkeley Township, she said. They have American flags that will be named after each veteran, and memorial plaques will be made for each one, Morris said.

It will be followed with a covered dish dinner at the Berkeley Recreation Center starting at 5:30 p.m.

Dinner, dessert and soft drinks will be served.

This event is free, but attendees must register online ahead of time here to have a count of what is needed.
