$13K Worth Of Disney Memorabilia Stolen In Bedminster

Fraud, disorderly conduct and a warrant arrest were also reported in the Bedminster Police Blotter.

BEDMINSTER, NJ — Disney animation cels worth $13,000 were reported stolen last week during a burglary in Bedminster.

Bedminster Police responded to Pandos Law Group (364 Rte. 202) on the report of a burglary on Nov. 14 at 12:55 p.m.

The business owner reported that framed Disney animation cels were taken and there did not appear to be any signs of forced entry.

The law group moved from Far Hills to Bedminster on Nov. 4 and Nov. 14 was the first full day back at work and this is when she noticed the animation cels missing, according to police.

Investigation is pending.

On Nov. 14 at approximately 6:30 p.m.: A resident of Parkside Road responded to headquarters to report a fraud. She advised on or about Oct. 30 she applied for a job through ZipRecruiter.com as a receptionist and courier for a company called Globalgivingnonprofitllc.com. She had e-mail and phone correspondence with, Kellie Grant, about the application process. Kellie requested her to do work for her prior to meeting in a few weeks and advised she would be receiving a check in the mail which she was supposed to deposit into her own account, then withdraw the funds, and deposit the money in another account. She accepted the job in exchange for payment of $600 which would be left over after she transferred the remainder of the money to the other accounts. On Nov. 2 she received a check via FedEx from a company listed as Deviate LLC. The check was written in the amount of $3,495.95. She did not deposit this check because she didn’t’ expect it to arrive so quickly and she thought it was suspicious. On November 7 th , she received a second check for the same amount. She deposited the check in an account she opened with Peapack-Gladstone Bank, specifically to conduct business for this new job. She withdrew $2,900 and deposited it into a Wells Fargo account as instructed. She also sent $200 via MoneyGram to Melanie Richardson at Walmart, as she was instructed. On Nov. 14, Peapack-Gladstone bank contacted her advised her that the check was fraudulent. She did not lose any money from her personal accounts nor did she experience any unauthorized credit accounts being opened in her name.

On Nov. 16 at approximately 12:50 a.m.: Bedminster Police was traveling southbound on Rte. 202/206 near River Road when they observed a white Chevy Malibu traveling southbound hesitating to make a right hand turn onto Rte. 287 southbound. Subsequent to the motor vehicle stop, Kasim Gomez, age 27 of New Brunswick was arrested for a warrant out of South Bound Brook for $600 and a warrant out of Cranford for $250. Gomez was also issued motor vehicle summonses for 39:3-10 (driving without a license), 39:3-36 (failure to notify DMV of address change), 39:3-40 (driving after DL suspended), and 39:3-4 (driving unregistered motor vehicle). Gomez was lodged in Somerset County Jail in lieu of bail.

On Nov. 17 at approximately 8:36 a.m.: Bedminster Police responded to a motor vehicle crash that occurred at Rte 206 and Pottersville Road. While processing the motor vehicle crash, the officer observed, Mychal P. Jensen-Lida, age 25 of Andover screaming and pushing the driver of the other vehicle. Jensen-Lida’s girlfriend was involved in the accident while driving his vehicle. Subsequent to the investigation, Jensen- Lida was arrested for 2C:33-2A(1) (Disorderly conduct).
