8 Hospitalized After I-78 Crash In Bedminster
A tractor-trailer rear-ended a van, causing a chain reaction on the interstate highway ramp early Thursday morning, police say.

BEDMINSTER, NJ — Eight people inside a van were sent to a hospital following a four-vehicle crash on I-78 in Bedminster on Thursday morning, according to authorities.
The crash occurred at 6:59 a.m. on the eastbound side of I-78 on the ramp of Exit 29 towards I-287.
A tractor trailer rear-ended a Ford van with eight people inside, which caused a chain reaction. The van then struck a Volkswagen Passat, causing the Passat to rear-end a GMC Arcadia, New Jersey State Police Trooper Alejandro Goez said.

The eight passengers in the van were taken to Somerset County Medical Center for precautionary, non-life-threatening injuries, Goez said.
The left lane of the exit ramp was closed for about 2 hours during the investigation. There were no other injuries reported.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was issued a summons for careless driving.
