Adult Summer Guitar Workshop

It’s never too late to learn to play an instrument! Music in the Somerset Hills is proud to offer outstanding musical opportunities for music students of all ages during the summer months. Enrollment is now available for the Adult Summer Guitar Workshop, which will be offered for adults aged 18 and older on Monday evenings from July 7 through August 25, 2014. Classes will take place from 6:30 to 8:00 PM in Greene Hall at St. Luke’s Church, located at 182 Main Street in Gladstone. This quick-start program, led by master teacher Shaheed Shabazz, will guide students through the basics of tuning the guitar and advance through playing complete songs. Early enrollment is encouraged, as space is limited to 10 participants.

Tuition is $180.00, and students must provide their own guitars.

Overseen by Artistic Director Stephen Sands, Music in the Somerset Hills was established to provide residents of the Somerset Hills and the surrounding region with an unparalleled variety of opportunities to hear, perform and learn about the world's great classical music. The organization is committed to an exceptional level of historically-informed and masterful performance, as well as to expanding the scope and variety of performance opportunities for professional and amateur musicians who live and work in the region, and creating opportunities for all people to pursue excellent musical education and find fellowship.

This program is made possible, in part, by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, and administered by the Somerset County Cultural & Heritage Commission through the State/County Partnership Local Arts Program. Support for Music in the Somerset Hills is also provided by Peapack-Gladstone Bank, and by a generous grant from the Isabel and Algernon M. Ellien Foundation. More information may be found at the organization's website: www.MusicSH.org, as well as on its Facebook page.
