BERNARDSVILLE, NJ - The playground at Claremont Field in Bernardsville has been shut down after being deemed a safety hazard, the borough's Recreation Department announced.
"The playground at Claremont Field has been deemed a safety hazard and will be shut down moving forward," the department said. Residents are asked to refrain from using the playground until further notice.
The closure affects one of the borough's community recreational spaces, and no timeline for repairs or a replacement has been announced.
The borough is working on an alternate plan for a new playground and has asked for residents' patience in the interim. "I will keep you updated on these plans as we move forward," the department said.
Details on what specific safety concerns prompted the closure, or what a replacement facility might look like, were not immediately available.
Residents with questions are encouraged to contact the Bernardsville Recreation Department directly for updates as plans develop.
