BEDMINSTER, NJ — Firefighters stopped a vehicle fire from spreading to occupied townhomes in Bedminster, according to the Far Hills-Bedminster Fire Department.
The incident took place on July 2, but the fire department posted the information on Tuesday.
Crews responded that afternoon to a motor vehicle fire in a driveway at the Stone Run II development. The fire had exposure to a second vehicle and an attached garage, the fire department said.
According to News 12, several vehicles were fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, and their close proximity to a row of townhomes created a serious risk that the fire could spread to the residential buildings.
Crews stretched hose lines and worked to contain the blaze to the vehicles while protecting the nearby homes. Firefighters brought the fire under control before it could extend into the residence, the fire department said.
No injuries were reported.
