BERNARDSVILLE, NJ — Book lovers will once again have the opportunity to browse thousands of affordable used books during the 76th Annual AAUW Somerset Hills Book Sale next month.
The longtime community tradition raises funds for scholarships, local libraries, and other charitable initiatives.
The event, organized by the American Association of University Women (AAUW) Somerset Hills, is known for its carefully organized selection of books, DVDs, CDs, and vinyl records. Visitors travel from across the East Coast and beyond to shop for quality titles, with most books priced between 50 cents and $2, while rare and collectible books in the Choice Room are individually priced.
Book donations will be accepted at Bernardsville Middle School from Monday, July 27, through Monday, Aug. 3. Student and adult volunteers are also needed to help sort the thousands of donated books.
The sale will take place at Bernardsville Middle School on Thursday, Aug. 6, and Friday, Aug. 7, from noon to 8 p.m., and Saturday, Aug. 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free, and shoppers are encouraged to bring their own bags. Area teachers are eligible for an early shopping opportunity by contacting organizers in advance.
