Bedminster Firefighters Join Tunnel To Towers 5K
The Far Hills-Bedminster Fire Department took part in Sunday's New York City event alongside three neighboring departments.
BEDMINSTER, NJ — Members of the Far Hills-Bedminster Fire Department joined firefighters and first responders from three neighboring organizations at Sunday’s Tunnel to Towers 5K in New York City.
The department said its members participated alongside Bernardsville Fire Co. No. 1 & First Aid Squad, Basking Ridge Fire Company No. 1 and Liberty Corner Fire Company.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation says the route retraces firefighter Stephen Siller’s final footsteps from the Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers and honors the 343 FDNY firefighters, law enforcement officers and thousands of civilians killed on Sept. 11, 2001.

The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk takes place in New York City each year on the last Sunday of September. The event drew 1,500 people when it began in 2002 and is now considered by many to be among the nation’s top 5K runs.
Proceeds support the Tunnel to Towers Foundation’s programs, including those benefiting first responders and catastrophically injured service members.
