Bedminster Home Burglarized, Ransacked

Bedminster Police found the front door of the home wide open with damage to both the frame and deadbolt.

BEDMINSTER, NJ — A Bedminster home was reportedly burglarized and ransacked last week.

On April 20 at 8:32 p.m., Bedminster Police responded to a home on Larger Cross Road for an activated burglar alarm.

Upon arrival the officer noticed the front door of the home was wide open with damage to both the frame and deadbolt. Broken pieces of wood and metal were on the floor, police reported.

The officers conducted interior checks and noticed several doors and dresser drawers were open in the master bedroom and the master closet also appeared ransacked, police reported.

The investigation is still ongoing.

On April 21 at approximately 1:08 a.m.: Bedminster Police observed a tan Buick Century drive past with no license plate lights. A motor vehicle stop was conducted on Rattlesnake Bridge Road just prior to I-78.

Subsequent to the investigation, Ryan Madrid, 30, of Clifton was arrested for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of CDS – cocaine. Madrid was also issued motor vehicle summonses for maintenance of lamps, failure to give proper signal – turning or stopping and operation of a motor vehicle while in possession of CDS. Madrid was processed and released.

On April 21 at 8:58 p.m.: Bedminster Police responded to Purnell School (50 Pottersville Road) for an activated fire alarm coming from the Moran Athletic Center. Pottersville Fire Department responded and confirmed a fire in the utility room in the center of the building. The fire was extinguished with a water can and the heavy smoke condition was ventilated. The building was not occupied at the time of the fire.
