The good news is that Bedminster’s taxes on the average home in 2013 was the lowest of any Somerset County municipality, as released by the Department of Community Affairs and reported in the 3/21/2014 edition of the Star Ledger.
The bad news is that Bedminster’s taxes increased at the second highest rate in Somerset County, as released by the Department of Community Affairs and reported in the 3/23/2014 edition of The Messenger Gazette.
I hope the Bedminster elected officials are aware that continuing as a leader in tax rate increase will eventually result in losing the leadership position of lowest property taxes. Not a goal they should be seeking; not a goal the community will be happy with.
