Bedminster Road Improvements Will Continue Through New Year

Somerset County Freeholders extend project completion date to February 2016

Bedminster, NJ -- Construction on Bedminster roads will continue into the new year due to extenuating circumstances and numerous issues.

The Somerset County Board of Chosen Freeholders voted to extend the current completion date 60 more days for work being done by Schifano Construction Corporation as part of “Bedminster Safety Improvements,” which include Pottersville Road (CR 512), Lamington Road (CR 523) and Burnt Mills Road (CR 620).

Work was supposed to be completed on Nov. 23 and now has a completion date of Feb. 1, 2016. The change in the contract time will not tack on any additional costs.

The project consists of improvements to the road surface and the roadside traffic control devices.

The three roads will be resurfaced with new paving. Curved areas of the roadway will receive a high friction roadway surface to reduce out of control and wet weather crashes. Guide rail will be updated to meet current crash worthy standards.

Highly reflective traffic stripes will be installed and all traffic signs replaced. Stone side roads and stone driveways will receive paved aprons to reduce stones on the edge of the roadway to improve bicycle safety.
