BEDMINSTER, NJ — Bedminster Tavern opened to the public on Main Street, replacing the former Delicious Heights restaurant.

Owner Alyssa Cranston said she had worked at Delicious Heights since she was 16 and wanted to bring a fresh concept to the area.

Cranston started as a greeter and a server and worked her way up while also serving as a catering sales manager at the Bridgewater Manor.

This experience helped Cranston create the new concept for the Bedminster Tavern at 285 Main Street in Bedminster.

"I've been in this area working for a long time now. And talking to the locals when they come in and dine about what they're looking for and getting their feedback. We wanted to get away from more of the fried bar food and get more into things that made sense for Somerset County," said Cranston.

Cranston described the new business as a rebrand with a new menu, new cocktails and some renovations inside the restaurant.

Bedminster Tavern is focusing on local and fresh ingredients and plans to use a seasonal menu that changes in the fall, winter, spring and summer.

"It's a totally new menu. Really completely different," Cranston said. "We’re going to go to more of like a seasonal menu, changing it, every fall, winter, spring, summer, because we’re trying to keep things more locally sourced."

The restaurant also added a piano and plans live music on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

She said the back bar, which she said operated as Legends when the site was Willie’s Tavern, is expected to reopen as The Stables, a whiskey bar open Thursday through Saturday.

Cranston said Chef Christopher Albrecht, who she said was with Harvest Group, has joined the restaurant.

She also said Thomas Mackett is serving as CEO of The Celtic Hospitality Group and previously worked as general manager of the Ryland Inn and as CEO of Landmark Hospitality.
