Bernards High School Receives Grant for STEM Program

Local high school receives grant to advance STEM program

Thanks to the generosity of donors and matching funds from New Jersey Health Foundation, the Foundation for Health Advancement (FHA) has awarded a grant to support the STEM education program at Bernards High School, announced FHA President James M. Golubieski.

The funded project will expand student resources in the existing engineering and technology classroom, allowing students to design, engineer and construct prototypes to address project creation and design challenges.

“We plan to use funding from the Foundation for Health Advancement to purchase new equipment to help engage students in richer learning experiences centered on problem solving and the engineering design loop,” explained Grant Kolmer, K-12 STEM supervisor. “We believe engaging students in the practice of problem-solving/engineering thinking is a skill they can take with them no matter what field they choose in the future.”
