Bernardsville-Area Students Head To College

Students from Basking Ridge, Bernardsville, Far Hills and Morristown all graduated from Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child.

BERNARDSVILLE, NJ — Students from Basking Ridge, Bernardsville, Far Hills and Morristown were among the 67 to graduate from Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child on June 11 in Summit.

The graduates kept with school tradition and donned white gowns and gloves, and carried peach roses.

Bernardsville area graduates are Caroline D’Aliso of Morristown, who will be attending Bucknell University; Janelle Drake of Basking Ridge, who will be attending the College of the Holy Cross; Jessica Midlige of Bernardsville, who will be attending Trinity College; and Margaret Moran of Far Hills, who will be attending Wake Forest University.

D’Aliso was captain of the track team. She was also a member of the field hockey, swimming and lacrosse teams. She also danced and was a member of the school chapter of the Cum Laude Society. Outside of Oak Knoll, D’Aliso was involved with Special Olympics.

Drake was a peer leader at the school and a member of its chapter of the Cum Laude Society. She was also a member of the National Foreign Language Honor Society for Spanish.

Drake, who was a two-sport athlete at Oak Knoll, serving as captain for both the basketball and softball teams, also volunteered with a local children’s hospital.

Midlige embraced service at Oak Knoll, volunteering for Dress for Success and the Valerie Fund. She was also a peer leader, as well as a representative on the Athletic and Social councils.

She was also a standout athlete, competing on the swimming and field hockey team for three and four years, respectively. She was a captain of the field hockey team during her senior year.

Moran was a scholar athlete at Oak Knoll, being inducted into the National Foreign Language Honor Society and National Society of High School Scholars. She was also an AP Scholar.

Moran was also a member of the soccer, lacrosse, cross country, basketball and swimming teams, and was a member of the Athletic Council.

She also embraced service both on and off campus through Operation Smile, BlinkNow and the Embrace Kids Foundation.

Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child is a Catholic, independent school, coeducational from kindergarten to grade 6 and for girls in grades 7 to 12.
