Bernardsville, Bedminster Election Guide 2017

Both local and county races are contested this year in Bernardsville and Bedminster.

BERNARDSVILLE-BEDMINSTER, NJ — Tuesday is Election Day. We have compiled a list of all of the candidates running on the local and county level and also a list of polling locations.

Locally there is a contested race in both Bernardsville and Bedminster.

In Bernardsville there are four candidates vying for two three-year seats on the borough council.

Republican incumbent William Youngblood is running for re-election. Newcomers include republican Karen J. Gardner and democrats Christine Zamarra and Thomas O’Dea Jr.

Bedminster:

In Bedminster there are two candidates vying for one three-year seats on the township committee.

Republican incumbent R. Colin Hickey is running against democrat Denise King.

Board of Education:

There are four candidates vying for two three-year seats on the Somerset Hills School District for Bernardsville.

Candidates include Sara Sooy, Patricia Wry, Kathleen A. Tober and Anthony Sardis.

There is only one candidate vying for the lone three-year seat for Peapack/Gladstone — Heather Santoro.

For the Bedminster Township School District there are five candidates vying for three three-year seats.

Candidates include Giovanna Lamiera, Howard Wolkow, Francis J. Porcelli, Michael Allegra and Ralph W. Wojtech.

Somerset County:

On the county level, both the freeholder and clerk races are contested.

There are four candidates vying for two three-year term seats for freeholder.

Republican Brian D. Levine of Somerset is the only incumbent running for re-election. Newcomers include republican Brian Gallagher of Somerville and democrats Alex Avellan of Basking Ridge and Shanel Robinson of Somerset.

There are two candidates vying for one five-year term as county clerk. Incumbent republican Brett A. Radi of Somerville is running for re-election against newcomer democrat Steve Peter of Somerville.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

In Bedminster Township, here are the voting locations and district:

  • District #1 Municipal Building, One Miller Lane
  • District #2, 3 Lamington Presbyterian Church, Lamington Road
  • District #4, 5, 6 Pluckemin Presbyterian Church, 311 Rt. 202/206, Pluckemin
  • District #7, 8, 9 Hills Village North Recreation Center, Artillery Park Road

In Bernardsville, here are the voting locations and district:

  • District #1, 2, 7 Library, 1 Anderson Hill Road
  • District #3, 4, 5 Presbyterian Church, Rt. 202
  • District # 6 Mount Harmony Road
