Bernardsville, Bedminster Primary 2018 Information

Tuesday, June 5 is primary day. Here's a list of who is running and where to vote in Bernardsville and Bedminster.

BERNARDSVILLE/BEDMINSTER, NJ — On Tuesday, voters will be heading to the polls to cast their ballots in the primary election. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Locally, in Bernardsville Borough there are no contested races. Democrat Kevin Sooy of 40 Courter St. is running against Republican Mary Jane Canose of 24 Autumn Hill Rd. for the four-year Mayor seat.

There are also two Democrats and two Republicans vying for the two three-year borough council seats. Democrats include: Jeffrey Hammond of 18 Flintlock Ct. and Mitra Corral of 10 Old Army Rd. Republicans include: Republican John Donahue of 16 South St. and Lloyd Sems of 291 Mendham Rd.

In Bedminster, the race is also uncontested with two Democrats and two Republicans vying for the two three-year township committee seats.

Democrats include: Jacob Caplan of 67 Village Green Rd. and Denise King of 28 Foxwood Ct. Republicans include: Lawrence F. Jacobs of 115 Hillside Ave. and Renee M. Mareski of 20 Crestmont Rd.

On the congressional level there is a contested race for the 7th Congressional District seat.

The two-year term seat is currently held by Leonard Lance, who has held the seat since 2009. District 7 covers all of Hunterdon County, and parts of Essex, Morris, Somerset, Union, and Warren counties.

  • District 3, 4, 5 - First Presbyterian Church, 321 Mine Brook Rd. (Fellowship Hall)
  • District 6 - St. John's on the Mountain, 379 Mt. Harmony Rd.

  • District 7, 8, 9 - Hills Village North Recreation Center, 25 Artillery Park Rd., Bedminster
