Bernardsville Library Friends Host Ghostly Fundraiser

A "spooktacular" evening with a book signing, ghost stories, music by local celebrity DJ Charlie Zavalick, a 50/50, and a silent auction.

Get in the mood for Halloween and join the Friends of the Bernardsville Public Library at The Bernards Inn for dinner with L’Aura Hladik Hoffman, author of “Ghosthunting New Jersey” and the upcoming book, “Ghosts of the Poconos,” on Friday, October 28 from 7:00 to 10:00 pm. “It will be a ‘spooktacular’ evening,” said Friends President Nancy Verduin, “With a book signing, ghost stories, dancing to music by local celebrity DJ Charlie Zavalick, a 50/50, and a silent auction. Tickets include hors d’oeuvres, steak, pasta and dessert. All proceeds benefit library programs, and attendees must be 18 or older

Ms. Hladik Hoffman has been officially ghost hunting since 1993 and founded the New Jersey Ghost Hunters Society in 1998, which to date is the largest paranormal investigating organization in New Jersey. As a paranormal investigator, she has stayed at the famously haunted Myrtles Plantation in St. Francisville, LA, and other ghost hunting explorations have taken her to Chicago, Savannah, and New Orleans. Internationally, she has investigated several Irish haunted castles, most notably Leap Castle in County Offaly, Ireland.

Ms. Hladik Hoffman appeared on the nationally syndicated television show "Montel Williams" for the Sylvia Browne Halloween Special on October 31, 2006 and “The Morning Show with Mike & Juliet” in 2008. In addition to local cable television appearances, she and the NJ Ghost Hunters Society were the focus of the Treasure HD Dish Network TV show, “Magnificent Obsessions,” in 2007. She was also interviewed via phone by the BBC (UK network) in 2007 regarding the "Ghost World" conference she helped organize. More recently, she has been a guest on countless AM, FM and Internet radio shows, and interviewed by local newspapers and e-zines. She has been involved in the production of various ghost conferences both in New Jersey and Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
