Bernardsville Schools Awarded $13K In Grants

The Somerset Hills Education Foundation (SHEF) awarded $13,715​ in grants to Bedwell Elementary School, BMS and BHS for school programs.

BERNARDSVILLE, NJ — The Somerset Hills Education Foundation (SHEF) awarded $13,715 in grants to Bedwell Elementary School, Bernardsville Middle School and Bernards High School.

This was part of the SHEF's fall 2017 grant cycle.

Bedwell received funds for four grants:

  • Calm Classroom - purchase of 35 Hoberman spheres to be used as "breathing balls".
  • Purchase of World Music Drum Sets to be used in fourth grade to support a cross cultural curriculum.
  • Purchase of flexible seating to be used in first grade.
  • Purchase of supplies to be used in the Bedwell Builders Archi-TECH-ure Museum.

BMS received funds for two grants:

  • Purchase of NeoRok stools to be used in the Special Education classroom.
  • Purchase of 150 kite sets to be used in all grade levels.

BHS received funds for two grants:

  • Fish Fun-ctionalities - purchase of 150 gallon fish tank, accessories and fish to be used in new MD program.
  • The Holocost From the Eyes of a Survivor - Purchase copies of "Chocolate, The Taste of Freedom" and a visit from the author Maud Dahme.
