Bernardsville Teens Appreciate Men In Blue
The Gourmet Guys, a club started by Bernardsville teens, cooked a Thanksgiving dinner for the police to thank them for their service.
BERNARDSVILLE, NJ — Bernardsville teenagers, who started a cooking club together, gave back to the local police on Thanksgiving.
"I thought it would be nice to do something for the police," Nicholas Falivene said. "There is a lot of violence in the news and we thought it would be a nice way to thank them for always protecting us and working on the holiday."
The cooking club, Nicholas and his friends started, is called the Gourmet Guys. Their mission is to Gather, Have Fun, Learn and Serve (the community) and each other great food.

It started out just as a way to gather and learn how to cook some great things with my Nicholas' uncle who is a chef and has been working with them for a few years.
"We found it a healthy way to get the boys together to demonstrate you can make good choices (not involving drugs or alcohol) get together and have fun," said Kara Falivene, Nicholas' mother.

For Thanksgiving the club made a Thanksgiving Dinner for the Bernardsville Police Department. Two restaurants in the community, Bistro Seventy Three and The Claremont Tavern, also sponsored the boys and worked with them in their kitchens to make part of the meal.
The goodies were dropped off at the Police Station around noon on Thanksgiving with some of the boys.
For anyone in the community that would like to have a meal cooked by the Gourmet Guys or local restaurants that would be interested in partnering with the boys to support initiatives and teach them, send an email to bvgourmetguys@gmail.com.
