Mail-In Ballots

For anyone who has requested Mail-In Ballots for all future elections the County Clerk is in the process of sending out Mail-In Ballots for the November 2nd General Election.  The Borough of Bernardsville will be opening our Ballot Drop Box on September 23rd.  If you have not already requested a Mail-In Ballot and wish to receive one, you can complete this application form https://www.co.somerset.nj.us/home/showpublisheddocument/458/637528031080300000 and mail it to the address on the form.  When applying by mail, the Somerset County Clerk's Office must receive your application form seven days (October 26th) prior to the election.  Another option to receive a Mail-In Ballot is to go in person to the County Clerk's Office at 20 Grove Street in Somerville.  The deadline to apply in person at the County Clerk's Office is 3:00pm the day before (November 1st) the election.  Note that you may not return a mail-in ballot to your polling location.

Ballot Drop Box

The Ballot Drop Box is located in front of Borough Hall at 166 Mine Brook Road.  It is secure, under surveillance and will not be tampered with.  This box is for ballot drop off only.  Please do not put any other documents in the Ballot Drop Box as it is emptied each day by Somerset County staff and not Borough staff.   

Voter Registration

If you need to register to vote, the voter registration deadline is October 12th.  All forms must be postmarked by October 12th in order to be able to vote in the November 2nd General Election.

Early Voting

New for this year's General Election is early voting.  There are six locations (Bridgewater, Franklin, Hillsborough, Montgomery, North Plainfield, Warren) throughout Somerset County where early voting will take place from October 23rd to October 31st.  While not located in Bernardsville, see the following link https://www.nj.gov/state/elections/vote-early-voting.shtml and scroll down to Somerset County Early Voting Locations for detalis about specific locations and times for early voting.
