Three Dead, 16 Injured In Major Crash On 287
A truck with a trailer carrying cows, a van and a car collided Saturday night in Bernards Township, killing three people and some cows.

Three people died in a massive wreck Saturday night on 287 after a trailer carrying cows, a multi-passenger van and at least one car collided, New Jersey State Police said.
According to State Police, the accident happened in the northbound lanes at about 10:30 p.m. in Bernards Township. Police did not say exactly what caused the three cars to collide.

At least 19 people were involved in the wreck, police said.
Of the 19, two people were pronounced dead at the scene and one person was pronounced dead at Morristown Memorial Hospital, police said. The identities of the deceased have not been released.

Four more people were transported to Morristown Memorial, two with serious injuries.
Nine people were transported to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Somerset with non-life-threatening injuries.
Two people were transported to Overlook Hospital in Summit with non-life-threatening injuries. One person refused medical treatment at the scene.
In addition to the people involved, some cows died at the scene. Others were transported following the wreck.
The road was closed for several hours due to the investigation.
