This lecture and hands-on outdoor photographing will focus on making clean, artistic images of flowers. The workshop will focus on making clean, artistic images of flowers. After a short lecture on the principles of flower photography, the group will take a short drive to the Cross Estate to photograph flowers in its garden. Please bring your camera.

Learn about the trees of eastern forests that are at risk or are lost. Eastern forests have changed since colonial times and are still changing. Learn about the causes and species we have lost and may still be losing in this illustrated program. What impact will this have on other wildlife? Weather permitting, a short trail walk will follow to check out trees at risk.

Forest bathing is inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin Yoku. It is a practice that supports health and wellness through guided immersion in nature. Forest bathing is a slow walk where people are guided through a sequence of invitations to slow down, be present with our senses, and experience the natural environment. Research studies have shown the practice of forest bathing has many benefits. The impact on our health is substantial: lowering blood pressure, boosting immune function, improving quality of sleep, and decreasing stress &amp; anxiety. The practice of forest bathing creates a path to reconnect and deepen the relationship to nature, to others, to our communities, and to ourselves. The health of nature and the health of people are woven together.
Joy is a certified Forest Bathing Guide through the Shinrin Yoku Association. She strives to live a life that honors the connection between nature and people.

Yoga is a great way to relax, connect with yourself, and increase flexibility and strength. Explore the connections between yoga and nature in this 75-minute class. No experience necessary; all levels welcome. Please arrive 10 minutes early and bring a yoga mat. For ages 15 years and older. This workshop will be held outdoors when the weather is suitable. During inclement weather it will be held indoors.
