Car Parked on Steeple Chase Court Burglarized in Bedminster

A car parked on Steeple Chase Court was burglarized on March 10, according to the Bedminster Police blotter

Bedminster, NJ -- Several arrests were made last week including a report of a car parked in the township was burglarized, according to the Bedminster Police Blotter.

DWI Arrest - March 9 at approximately 8:48 p.m.: Bedminster Police responded to the area of Route 202/206 North and River Road for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival the officer located good Samaritans stopped checking on a black Volkswagen which crashed into the Jersey Barrier. Subsequent to the investigation, Sean Kelly, age 47 of Glen Gardner was arrested for 39:4-50 (driving while intoxicated) and issued motor vehicle summonses for 39:4-96(reckless driving), 39:4-88(unsafe lane change), and 39:4-130(failure to report an accident).

Suspicious Incident - March 9 at 10 a.m.: Bedminster Police responded to the area of the Pluckemin Cemetery for a suspicious person believed to be homeless that used the wooded area as a restroom. The male was described as older with grey hair, wearing a blue shirt and a dark blue vest. The officer located the male and an area resident advised the male was deaf and mute and a resident in the area. The male is a resident of Washington Valley Road in Bridgewater. The male was returned to his residence without incident.

Motor Vehicle Burglary - March 10: A Bedminster resident of Steeple Chase Court responded to headquarters to report that his vehicle had been burglarized overnight. The subject advised that the contents from the center console of the vehicle were removed and placed on the driver seat. He also noticed his jacket which was on the back seat was now on the floor with the pockets turned inside out. The complainant advised nothing was taken from the vehicle and that the vehicle was parked in his driveway, unlocked.

Solicitors - March 10 at approximately 6:18 p.m.: Bedminster Police responded to the area of Sage Court for a report of suspicious individuals, wearing yellow vests who were soliciting (windows) without a permit. The officer was not able to locate the subjects. At 7:02 p.m. Bedminster Police received a similar call in the area of Timberbrooke Drive near Washington Valley Road. Upon arrival the officer located, Adrian Hunte, age 21 of Newark who advised he was an employee of Anderson Renewal for 1.5 weeks and his supervisor who dropped him off stated that he had a permit. The supervisor was contacted and responded to the area. The officer issued, Delfone Pierce, age 24 of Edison a local ordinance summons 4-1.1, soliciting without a permit and was advised to leave the area until a permit was obtained.

Warrant Arrest - March 11 at 11:49 p.m.: While on patrol of Route 202/206 South near Route 287 south entrance ramp, Bedminster Police observed a black Toyota Avalon traveling in the exit lane. The marked patrol vehicle was traveling on Route 202/206 South in the right lane approaching the exit ramp. The Avalon crossed the painted median and entered the right lane directly in front of the patrol vehicle causing the office to activate the brakes to avoid striking the vehicle. Subsequent to the motor vehicle stop, Darcell Crone, age 41 of East Orange was arrested for a traffic warrant out of Belmar Boro for $130. Crone posted bail and was also issued a motor vehicle summons for 39:4-124 (improper turn from marked turning course).
