Foster and Adoptive Family Services Foundation is holding the 3rd Annual Champions for Children 5K Run/Fun Walk to Benefit Children in Foster Care. Sponsored by Grand Bank and Checkpoint HR, the run will take place on Sunday, June 8, 2014, along the flat, paved running path in Duke Island Park at 9:30 am. The walk will start shortly after at 10 am. Registration opens at 8 am. The race is sanctioned by the USATF-NJ and is a Grand Prix event worth 500 points. There will be fun activities and snacks provided. All registered participants will receive a free t-shirt. The run will be professionally timed, with prizes warded to registered runners who are top finishers in age group categories. To register, go to www.fafsfoundation.org. Registration for runners is $25 and $30 the day of the event. USATF-NJ members receive a $3 discount. Registration for walkers is $15 and $20 the day of the event. Walkers and runners can also set up fundraising teams on the organization website.
