DWI, Drug Possession Reported In Bedminster

BEDMINSTER, NJ — Two arrests and a recap of President Trump's visit to Bedminster was reported by police.

Bedminster Police Blotter:

On May 2 at 9:10 p.m.: Bedminster Police were on a traffic detail in front of the Exxon gas station at Route 202/206 and Washington Valley Road. While stationary, the officer noticed a black Chevy S10 traveling north on Route 202/206 slam on its brakes almost colliding with another vehicle. Subsequent to the motor vehicle stop, Peter Nagrodski, 54, of South Bound Brook was arrested for 39:4-50 (driving while intoxicated) and issued motor vehicle summonses for 39:4-81 (failure to observe signal), 39:4-51B (open container), 39:3-33 (no front plate), and 39:4-97 (careless driving).

On May 4 to May 7: All major roadways remained open without any need for a long duration road closures or detours during President Donald Trump's visit. Traffic volume was heavier than normal, which may have been related to VNA sale in Far Hills. The posted “No Stopping or Standing” areas proactively deterred motorists from causing traffic safety issues. Bedminster Police recorded four motor vehicle enforcement contacts for the posted no stopping zone. All demonstrator activity was conducted in a peaceful fashion. The only issue noted was that some demonstrators parked in the library parking lot instead of on the public street.

On May 6 at 1:42 a.m.: Bedminster Police were dispatched to the River Road jug handle for a report of a motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, the officer observed a green Volvo stationwagon almost fully in the grass island approximately 40 to 50 feet from the Route 202-206 and River Road intersection. Subsequent to the investigation, Aaron Shinn, 24, of Knox Court in Basking Ridge was charged with 39:4-50 (driving under the influence), 2C:35-10A(4) (possession of marijuana under 50 grams), 2C:36-2 (possession of drug paraphernalia), and issued motor vehicle summonses for 39:4-97 (careless driving), 39:3-29 (failure to possess registration) and 39:4-49.1 (possession of CDS in a motor vehicle).
