COPYRIGHT LAWS FOR ARTISTS: THE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW - Bedminster, NJ: ARTsee, in cooperation with The Center for Contemporary Art (CCA), proudly hosts “Copyright Stuff for Artists: The Things You Need to Know,” with attorney, Stephen F. Roth.The presentation will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from 7:00-8:30 pm at CCA, 2020 Burnt Mills Road, Bedminster, NJ 07921.
Topics will include copyright laws as they pertain to visual artists; when things become public domain; use of images found on the internet; use of images from magazines in artwork; whether or not to register artwork with the copyright office in Washington; protecting one’s work from copyright infringement, and more.
Mr. Roth is a partner at Lerner David, the largest intellectual property boutique in New Jersey. He specializes in litigation and has served as lead counsel on numerous cases. This year, Mr. Roth was honored with the Best Lawyers’ award for “Lawyer of the Year” in Patent Litigation for the Newark metropolitan area. He is a member of NJVLA (New Jersey Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts), which helps artists and arts organizations through pro bono attorney referrals and legal education.A donation of $10 in support of New Jersey Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts and CCA is requested.
