Father-Daughter Team Open Upscale Men's Salon

Bedminster, NJ -- A father and daughter duo have teamed up to open an upscale men’s grooming salon in Bedminster.

18|8 Fine Men’s Salon recently held its grand opening and ribbon cutting on Feb. 6 with town officials including Mayor Steven Parker at its location in The Hills at Village Center at 442 U.S. Highway Route 202/206 North.

“We are directly catering to upscale men who want more than just a $10 haircut or those want more than to go to a women’s salon with lack of attention,” said Joanna Bunce, co-owner of 18|8 Fine Men’s Salons with her father Daniel.

Daniel serves more as a silent partner while Joanna handles the day-to-day operations, but both are fully invested in the franchise business.

They flew out to California to learn about the business model and were hooked.

“We offer a higher level of grooming service for men,” Joanna said. “Upscale haircuts, handcrafted haircuts, we have stylists that don’t use guards on clippers. They look at your head and recommend the best haircut for you.”

Along with haircuts, the salon offers classic straight razor shaves, scalp treatments and any male grooming service all without moving from your chair.

“It’s very humbling to see the response from community,” Joanna said. “We had someone step out of the chair and it was ‘more than just a haircut, it’s an experience.’ You are not just paying for haircut. It’s almost like a spa for men.”

Fully committed in their business, Joanna and Daniel have purchased a large territory in Somerset County so they are planning on opening two more locations in the future.
