The Full Ride: Tales from the Road Told at Bernardsville Library

Three Bernardsville bikers talk about their epic motorcycle journey which stretched to the four furthest points in the United States.

Astride three old motorcycles, Bernardsville travelers Avery Starkey, Tom Solymosi, and Brad Fransson embarked on a 27,000 mile odyssey from April to September this year. Their epic journey stretched to the four furthest points in the United States: Quoddy Head, Maine, where the sun first rises in the northeast; Key West, Florida in the southeast; Border Fields State Park, where San Diego and Mexico meet in the southwest; and Dead Horse, Alaska, the most northwestern point in America. On Friday, October 2, 2015 at 7:00 pm, the bikers will talk about their trip with humor and appreciation accompanied by numerous photos. Listeners will hear special tales of the road angels along the way who helped the Bernardsville trio traverse motorcycle breakdowns, fast-changing weather, and self-doubt.

Recording their trip for a documentary film they will make, the guys traveled through 49 states, visiting countless national parks, monuments, forests, and museums. Camping and staying with friends—and strangers who turned into friends—the roadworthy bikers will explain the plans they made and the twists their best laid plans took.

There is no charge to attend the program, but advance sign-up is requested. Register online at www.bernardsvillelibrary.org and follow the link from Adult Programs, or call the library at 908-766-0118 to sign up. [Only the Library’s Community Room will be open for this program.]
