The Greater Scherman Hoffman Century Run- Play a part in The 32nd World Series of Birding
New Jersey Audubon hosts 32nd Annual World Series of Birding

Looking to spend a fun day exploring the outdoors? Then join our team for this all day event at Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary, 11 Hardscrabble Road in Bernardsville on May 9th, from 7 am to midafternoon. This annual fundraiser is held statewide at various locations and has nearly 80 different teams with a goal of identifying as many bird species as possible.
All skill levels and ages are welcome to come out to support our team captain, Randy Little, as he will lead a morning hike through Patriot’s Path, Cross Estate and the sanctuary grounds. Following lunch, you will then head over to The Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge to continue searching and logging data. The average count is 82 species, with the record of 102 set in 2002.
Randy has been leading this event since 1988 and will help you learn all aspects of birding, including the intricacies of bird songs during migration. He is a former board member of New Jersey Audubon, author of For the Birds and a master at recording birdsongs for The Lab of Ornithology.
Through pledges and donations, participants will be supporting vital wildlife and habitat conservation projects. For complete information please visit www.worldseriesofbirding.org.
