  • Operate a variety of mowers in grass cutting operations.
  • Operate trucks, tractors, trailers and loaders in grounds preparation and maintenance work.
  • Cut, prune and trims trees, shrubs and hedges, rake leaves and remove fallen limbs and trash, perform related tasks.
  • Assist in the propagating, planting, cultivating, watering and spraying on flowers, plants, shrubs and trees.
  • Assist in mowing, watering, weeding, aerating, fertilizing and general soil care of various Township properties, i.e. parks, islands, etc.
  • Clear under brush, foliage, vines, weeds, etc. from grounds.
  • Pick up trash from grounds.
  • Prepare athletic fields, i.e. measures and lays out dimensions, etc.
  • Mix chemicals and fertilizers according to predetermined formula and operate equipment to apply these chemicals and fertilizers to grass and control of weeds and grass diseases.
  • Perform cement, woodworking and painting tasks.
  • Perform general cleanup of park facilities, such as restrooms, picnic shelters, and other buildings and structures.
  • May be required to work overtime.
  • Assists with snow and ice removal.
  • Perform related tasks as required.
  • Ability to regularly work in outside weather conditions exposed to heat, cold, wet or humid conditions. Frequently works near moving equipment and occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles and toxic or caustic materials. Must be able to move, lift, and carry 80 pounds and occasionally up to 125 pounds.
