Gun, Hollow-Point Bullets Found During Bedminster Traffic Stop

Desiderio's Market was also reportedly burglarized with $250 stolen, according to the Bedminster Police Blotter.

BEDMINSTER, NJ — A gun and hollow-point bullets were found by Bedminster Police during a traffic stop.

On ;July 14 at around 10:53 p.m., Bedminster Police saw a white Toyota Camry driving Route 202/206 northbound with obstructed front windows due to tint.

A motor vehicle stop was conducted on Route 202/206 northbound in the area of the AT&T pond. Subsequent to the investigation, Vijon Weston,22, of Somerset was arrested for unlawful possession of a handgun without a permit and unlawful possession of hollow point bullets, Bedminster Police report.

Weston was also found to have a warrant out of Neptune Township for $500, he posted full bail. He was issued motor vehicle summonses for driving after driver’s license suspended/revoked and obstruction of windshield for vision. Weston was lodged in Somerset County Jail.

On July 10 at approximately 7:37 a.m.: Bedminster Police were dispatched to Desiderio’s Market (300 Main St.) for a report of a burglary. Upon arrival the officer met with the owner who advised that he closed the market on July 9 at approximately 8:30 p.m. He discovered a rear window was busted open at 6:30 a.m. when the market opened on July 10. The cash register was on the ground behind the counter and $250 was stolen. The investigation is still ongoing.

On July 11: Bedminster Police met with Harding Police Department to take custody of, Anthony Paulsen, 41, of Madison who had a Bedminster traffic warrant for $500. Paulsen was lodged in Somerset County Jail in lieu of bail.
