Hike through History at Scherman Hoffman
Hike and book signing presented by Gordon Thomas Ward, Author of A Bit of Earth in the Somerset Hills and Ghosts of Central Jersey
Sunday, October 4, 2015, 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Join Gordon on this interpretive Hike Through History, exploring the history of the sanctuary and surrounding area. The sanctuary is home to not only abundant wildlife, but abundant history as well. This interpretive walk shares both the natural history, Revolutionary War New Jersey Brigade history and the cumulative impact this had on children growing up in this time and place.
Gordon grew up around the corner from the sanctuary, and in his book, A Bit of Earth in the Somerset Hills, he recalls in brilliant detail the Bernardsville neighborhood in which he called home.
