Homes of Distinction 2017
Homes of Distinction 2017, Sunday, June 4th at the historic Hamilton Farms. Fundraiser for Bernardsville Library.

The Bernardsville Library Foundation is pleased to announce its signature fundraising event, Homes of Distinction 2017, on Sunday, June 4th, 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, at the U.S. Equestrian Team Stable and Carriage Barn at the historic Hamilton Farm. Located in Gladstone, Hamilton Farm is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. The famous stable has an ornate interior which includes carriage rooms, Guastavino tile, terrazzo floors and brass fittings. The central entrance leads through to a tiled octagonal foyer, with a split-level stable on the left and an upstairs Trophy Room. It’s an elegant place to spend the afternoon socializing, while shopping the silent auction and wine pull. Enjoy appetizers provided by The Bernards Inn, cocktails in a conversation area designed by Jeffrey B. Haines, Butlers of Far Hills, and a live jazz performance by duo John Zweig and Rick Crane.
Tickets to the event will be sold at two levels, Sponsor ($125) and Benefactor ($200), the same as last year. Contributing at a higher level helps support the library even more and entitles ticket holders to attend additional special programs on June 4. Benefactor pre-events begin at 1:00 pm with a visit to a nearby private estate to view an exceptional collection of antique carriages, coaches and sleighs. This will be followed by specialty hors d’oeuvres and a history presentation by local historian and author W. Barry Thomson in the Hamilton Farm Trophy Room beginning at 2:00 pm. Reservations at both levels are now available at the library. A reservation form can also be downloaded from www.bernardsvillelibrary.org/events.
Local businesses are urged to support this event by advertising in the Keepsake Journal, and businesses and individuals alike can help by donating to the Silent Auction and Wine Pull, in addition to attending the event. All proceeds will benefit Bernardsville Public Library.
The mission of the Bernardsville Library Foundation is to provide a source of private funding to enable our outstanding Five-Star Library to continue to operate at a level of excellence without regard to variations in public funding. This year, the fundraising campaign is even more important as the library is facing a budget shortfall which is impacting library hours, staff and the acquisition of new materials.
A portion of each ticket price is tax-deductible. For a reservation form and information on donating to the silent auction and wine pull, please go to www.bernardsvillelibrary.org/events.
