"Ken Ahlering Traditional Fine Art": Exhibition at Bernardsville Library

Ken Ahlering's art focuses on serene scenes of the American landscape. He specializes in seascapes and ski-scapes.

Bernardsville Public Library is pleased to present "Ken Ahlering Traditional Fine Art," an exhibition of paintings by Ken Ahlering on view April 1-28, 2017 in the Library's Community Room. The artist's reception will be on Sunday, April 2 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.

Ken Ahlering’s art focuses on serene scenes of the American landscape. He specializes in seascapes and ski-scapes. He says he “wants his paintings to quiet a room and start a conversation.” He hopes his works will become family heirlooms and passed on to future generations.

Mr. Ahlering, who was born in Port Reading and now splits his time between Hampton, NJ and South Londonderry, VT, began painting when he was about 12 years old. Through the years he had other career commitments, but always found time to paint. He entered shows, sold a few paintings and gave some as gifts. About twenty years ago, however, he began to work towards a full time artist’s life. He has grown into a very active artist, showing his works at many galleries and interesting venues in New Jersey, Manhattan and especially Vermont.
