The Legacy of Stanley Milgram
Hear about Milgram's remarkable life and career, including his work at Yale and Harvard on "obedience to authority."

The aim of social psychology is to use scientific methods to deepen our understanding of our interpersonal behavior. During his brief and meteoric 24-year career, Stanley Milgram (1933-1984) offered some of the most brilliant insights ever produced in his field of social psychology. At his funeral in 1984, his work was described as "an indestructible monolith on an uninhabited plane."
Hear about Milgram's work on Wednesday, April 11 at 7:00 pm at Bernardsville Public Library when two men who worked closely with Prof. Milgram, Harold Takooshian, Ph.D., Professor of Psychology and Urban Studies at Fordham University, and Edward English, cameraman and editor for the original documentary “Obedience,” will briefly describe his remarkable life and career, including his work at Yale and Harvard on “obedience to authority” and his work at CUNY on “urban psychology.” A short excerpt of the film will be shown.
There is no charge to attend the program, but advance sign-up is requested. Register online at www.bernardsvillelibrary.org and follow the link from Adult Programs, or call the library at 908-766-0118 to sign up.
