Major traffic delays are happening in North Jersey after a truck flipped on a N.J. highway, police said.
A dump truck flipped and spilled gravel on 1-287 in Bernards Township at milepost 29, according to the State Police.
The right and center lanes were for the gravel cleanup, police said. But traffic is believed to be backed up for at least 20 miles east and west since the cleanup is expected to take hours.

That incident and what's been reported as a "major wreck" in the Union County may also be impacting travel on 1-78. Traffic is backed up on the roadway between Somerset County and Newark.

- Delays: Hudson County Extension: Delays on the New Jersey Turnpike - Hudson County Extension eastbound from Interchange 14 - I-78 to West of Newark Bay Bridge in Newark - 1 1/2 mile delay.
- Delays: I-78 westbound between Exit 55 - CR 602/Lyons Ave in Newark and East of Exit 48 - NJ 24 West in Springfield Twp - delays due to volume.
- Delays: I-80 eastbound between Exit 30 - Howard Blvd in Mount Arlington and Exit 43 - I-287 in Parsippany-Troy Hills Twp delays due to volume.
