“Matheny Arts Access: 25 Years of Art Without Boundaries,” a video capturing the essence of the Arts Access program at Matheny recently won two 1st place awards and Best in Show at the 51st Annual Jersey Awards sponsored by the NJ Ad Club, awarded June 5th at the Grove in Cedar Grove. The video, produced by Awakened Films, celebrates the many facets of and features the talented artists working in the Arts Access Program at Matheny.

“Matheny is incredibly honored and humbled to be recognized by the NJ AD Club with their distinguished Jersey Awards for Best in Show! We are proud to represent the great work our team accomplishes for our artist clients and their families,” says Vincent Barba, MD, FACP, FHM, CPPS; Vice President of Patient Care and Safety, Chief Medical Officer & Safety Officer at Matheny.

The mission of the Arts Access program at Matheny is to provide individuals with disabilities the freedom to create in the visual, literary, and performing arts. Artworks created in the program have been exhibited in galleries at Sotheby’s in New York City, Pfizer, Bristol-Myers Squibb, ABC World Headquarters, the Newark Museum, Johnson and Johnson headquarters and several other notable venues. Arts Access has also been featured in a number of media outlets including CBS Sunday Morning, CBS Evening News, Fox 5 NY, NJTV, and many others.

Arts Access Program Director Eileen Murray stated, “We are so honored to receive this award from the prestigious NJ Ad Club for this film celebrating the remarkable Arts Access artists. My sincere thanks go to the NJ Ad Club and Awakened Films, the visionary filmmakers who worked with us to bring this piece to life.”
