Memoirs & Coffee Book Group to Discuss "Let's Pretend This Never Happened"

The next meeting of Bernardsville Public Library’s book discussion group, Memoirs and Coffee, will be held on Tuesday, July 26 at 10:30 am in the library’s Community Room. Manager Pat Kennedy-Grant will lead the discussion of "Let's Pretend This Never Happened" (2012) by Jenny Lawson. [The author will not be present.]
With this book, Internet star Jenny Lawson, aka The Bloggess, made her literary debut. It was a #1 New York Times bestseller! Lawson realized that the most mortifying moments of our lives—the ones we’d like to pretend never happened—are in fact the ones that define us. In the book, she takes readers on a hilarious journey recalling her bizarre upbringing in rural Texas, her devastatingly awkward high school years, and her relationship with her long-suffering husband, Victor. Pictures with captions, since no one would believe these things without proof, accompany the text.
