Memorable May in Central Asia

Silk Road Treasure Tours Central Asia Exploration, Celebrations and More

Chester, NJ - June 14, 2017

Central Asia is one of the most fascinating destinations on earth and has become one of the top destinations for world travelers. With wonderful weather, fascinating cultural events and festivals April and May are the most popular months to travel to this exotic region. Recently traveling to the area, local travel specialist Zulya Rajabova escorted several US travelers and her team of experts to the most ancient sites, small villages and Silk Road cities, bustling bazaars, annual silk and spice festival, flower festivals, concerts and crafts shows.

Hospitality in Central Asia is “ranked higher than average” and many tours with Ms. Rajabova include visits to local families including her own. The personal experience, getting to know the people and culture, always tops the lists of best experiences for travelers.

One example is Uzbekistan, the journey included the Lyabi Haus tea house in Bukhara and in Samarkand near Registan Square where travelers relaxed the old-fashioned way with green tea under the mulberry trees. After a busy day of sightseeing and new experiences, travelers enjoyed boutique hotel stays. Decorated with traditional crafts and usually family-owned, these hotels offer a warm welcome with comfortable accommodations and hearty breakfasts. But also as an emerging destination there are now luxury hotels, bringing familiarity and comfort while they enjoy authentic adventures for that ‘Trip of a Lifetime’ experience. The Tashkent 5-Star Hyatt Regency and Bukhara's Komil Boutique hotel seems to be new favorites.

One recent concern for world travelers has been complex border crossings which can be the most stressful part of any trip. Most tours with Zulya require several national border crossings and the most recent trip was no exception. Ms. Rajabova's established relationship with the Uzbekistan Consulate helped to easily secure visas for her travelers. Her staff also ensured the advance invitations required to enter Tajikistan and Turkmenistan so that visas are available at the border and to verify that no visas were needed for Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

The best anniversary we ever had. Traveling under your care has made our trip unforgettable and totally marvelous. Thank you for all your attention to every detail in making our trip so perfect." Mr. and Mrs. Jack Mormons, who celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary with Zulya

The unique tours designed by Silk Road Treasure Tours requires dedicated staff, travel partners and immense coordination that occurs well before departure. In addition to border crossings many travelers have other concerns ranging from cuisine, travel between cities, hotel quality and safety among others. Having a travel professional who is familiar with the region eases those concerns, every detail confirmed with constant communication.

As a boutique tour operator myself, I am very aware of the amount of work involved in planning a problem-free trip for travelers. I pride myself on having established partnerships with reliable, honest, and hard working local operators in the countries my groups visit. I can state unequivocally that Zulya ranks amongst the best I have ever met. She is a gem. - Sandy Colony, President, Personalized Odysseys

Mr. and Mrs. Park, who traveled from Ohio added destinations during their tour. They loved the trip, which avoided the normal crowds and allowed them to visit sites which are not open to the public. They enjoyed meeting young students at an elementary school where children wanted to practice their English. Ms. Park delighted in giving them small gifts and the best tips on learning English. To add to the unique travel experience, Zulya met them in her home town Bukhara and had a nice visit and dinner of traditional pilaf and Uzbekistan appetizers.

"Thank you so much for our wonderful Journey to Central Asia. Still thinking and talking about how enchanted every moment was." - Mr. and Mrs. Park

Silk Road Treasure Tours staff member Catherine Noyes also traveled this spring to explore Uzbekistan and the unique destinations, witnessing the captivating scenery of Central Asia. Cathy met with the rest of Zulya's staff, interviewed the craftspeople and fashion designers during her trip to have first-hand knowledge to write about them for future publication.

"For me to plan the precious trip for my travelers and actually traveling with them helps me to learn more about their travel style. These travelers now are my friends and some are planning to return back with their families, but also to visit our other Silk Road destinations like Caucasus and China." - Zulya
