Milltown Man Charged With Robbing Bedminster Bank

Jeffrey Wolfman, 32, was reportedly holding clothes that fit the description of the robbery and dropped cash when questioned by police.

BEDMINSTER, NJ — A Milltown man was arrested in connection with a bank robbery in Bedminster on Wednesday.

Jeffrey E. Wolfman, 32, of South Main Street was with second degree robbery, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.

On Wednesday, a man later identified as Wolfman reportedly entered the Peapack-Gladstone Bank located in the Pottersville section of Bedminster and demanded money from the bank teller.

The bank teller turned over cash to the Wolfman and he then fled the bank on foot.

A witness reported seeing Wolfman on a nearby side street where he was taking off his outer layer of clothing while dropping cash on the ground.

Responding Bedminster Police Officers later saw Wolfman walking away from the side street carrying clothing in his hands which matched the description provided by a bank employee, Robertson said.

Officers approached Wolfman and while speaking to him he dropped cash onto the ground, which was recovered as suspected proceeds from the bank robbery, according to the report.

Detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, the Crime Scene Investigations Unit, and Special Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) responded to assist in the bank robbery investigation.

Wolfman was arrested and charged and lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.
