Join us at Bernardsville Public Library on Sunday, May 3 at 3:00 pm for a free concert by Rhonda Denét and the Silver Fox Duo performing “Mostly Motown,” a review of classic Rhythm & Blues and soul of the 1960s and 1970s with a focus on songs from Motown’s heyday. The group expertly brings this music to life sparking many memories and may even inspire a sing-along across generations!
Rhonda Denét is a New York City based jazz/soul vocalist performer who presents her unique interpretations of these classic songs accompanied by the Silver Fox Songs duo (guitar and percussion). Music has always been a guiding force in Ms. Denét’s life. She grew up in the Washington DC area and performed for senior and other underserved populations throughout her childhood. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from New York University and a Master of Arts in Arts Administration from Florida State University. Her professional career has allowed her to share the gift of music throughout the region and across the country with appearances at concert halls, theaters, clubs, resorts, museums and premier wedding venues such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Lincoln Center Theater, New York Friar’s Club, Waldorf Astoria, B. B. Kings Bar & Grill, and Ashford & Simpson’s Sugar Bar.
The development of the Silver Fox Songs series was a natural progression because it allows her to honor great artistry in American music and bring live music to appreciative audiences. In addition to being the founder and primary performer for the Silver Fox Songs showcase series, Ms. Denét performs regularly throughout the New York metropolitan area with her band The Bad Cats, as the lead vocalist for The Kazz Music Orchestra, and with several other regional projects.
