Multiple Victims Airlifted In Fatal Motorcycle Accident In Bedminster

The Hackettstown man was riding on a motorcycle with a 12-year-old passenger on Route 206 in Bedminster when the fatal accident occurred.

Bedminster, NJ -- Multiple victims were airlifted by helicopters following a fatal motorcycle accident on Route 206 in Bedminster that took the life of a Hackettstown man.

Bedminster Township Police responded to the accident involving a car and a motorcycle on Sunday, June 12 at around 4:15 p.m. on U.S. Highway Route 206 at Lamington Road, Acting Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson, and Bedminster Township Chief of Police Karl Rock announced Monday.

A 2006 Infiniti M35, driven by Donald E. Burkat, 86, of Morristown, was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway Route 206 when he struck a 2008 Yamaha V Star motorcycle, police reported.

The motorcycle was being driven by  Keith Wilson, 52, of Hackettstown with a 12-year-old passenger, according to the police.

Wilson and his passenger were both airlifted by helicopter to Morristown Medical Center. Wilson was pronounced dead at the hospital. The passenger is being treated.

The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office C.A.R.T. (Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team) and the Bedminster Township Police Department Detective Bureau are continuing to investigate the crash.
