New Programming Club Starts at Bernardsville Library

Whether looking to learn, improve, collaborate, or just share your passion for code, this will be the place to meet.

Computers are one of the most powerful tools we have, and programming is the door to that power. From AAA games to tax software—everything was coded by people. Starting Friday, February 12, programmers of all knowledge levels are invited to drop into Bernardsville Library on Friday afternoons from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. Whether looking to learn, improve, collaborate, or just share your passion for code, this will be the place to meet.

The club will be coordinated by Paul Becker of Bernardsville. He has been programming since the age of eight, and his knowledge is broad, but most deep regarding theory (computer science), Linux, and games (design and development). He studied Math, Computer Science, and Physics at Drew University, has taught Game Design in Unreal at Fairleigh Dickinson, and co-owns a fledgling game and software development company, Blindhack Software, with his brother. “I am always learning,” he says.

Individual and group projects will be discussed at the Friday meetings. As with any art, self-motivation and practice are key. All knowledge levels welcome. Teenagers through adults are welcome. Participants should bring a laptop; any OS is acceptable (Windows, Mac, Linux).
