BEDMINSTER, NJ — Overnight bridge construction work in Bedminster will require lane closures on I-287 northbound, New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials announced.
Work will begin at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 2 until 6 a.m. Friday, March 3. NJDOT’s Contractor, Midlantic Construction LLC., is scheduled to close a left lane and perform intermittent traffic slowdowns on I-287 northbound at mile post 20.9 near Exit 21A/I-78 eastbound to erect steel beams.
Motorists should expect overnight delays and are encouraged to seek alternate routes.

This project is part of the $24.5 million federally-funded I-287/I-78/Route 202/Route 206 Interchange Improvements project that will enhance safety and improve traffic operations between the existing I-287 interchanges with I-78 and Route 202/206.
The erection of the steel beams form part of a new flyover bridge being constructed from I-78 eastbound to I-287 northbound. Two new bridges are to be constructed over I-287, one over northbound lanes, and another over southbound lanes. The project is expected to be completed in late 2019.
