Pastels by Linda Schwartz on Exhibition at Bernardsville Library in September

An exhibition of pastels by Warren resident Linda Schwartz,

"Connections," an exhibition of pastels by Warren resident Linda Schwartz, will be on display during the month of September at Bernardsville Public Library.

Ms. Schwartz has been interested in drawing since childhood and took photography, pottery and sculpture classes in college. She has studied portraiture and painting with Enrique Flores-Galbis, Andrea Gianchiglia and Anne Kullaf at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey in Summit and the Center for Contemporary Art in Bedminster. Her work has been shown in juried and solo shows around New Jersey.

“Capturing people, places and objects that evoke emotion and connect us – to the past, to memories, to imagination, to joy, to childhood – is my motivation. Color, shape, light and reflections are the themes that I use to explore those connections,” says Ms. Schwartz, “The rich color, immediacy and texture created with pastels offer the ideal medium to bring these themes to life. I use these themes to explore and express our connection to people, places and objects.”
