"The Phoenix and the Falcon" - A Book Signing at Bernardsville Library

Meet Pottersville author Katherine Newcomer who will speak about her book and her writing process, and sign copies of her book.

Pottersville author Katherine Newcomer will speak about and sign copies of her debut novel, “The Phoenix and The Falcon,” at Bernardsville Public Library on Thursday, August 13 at 7:00 pm. The book, set in the time of Attila the Hun, tells the story of Helena and Valamir who come together in the wake of chaos caused by Attila and his warriors. Their improbable love ignites in them a deep passion with life altering consequences. Books will be available for purchase and signing at the Library.

Ms. Newcomer graduated cum laude from Drew University with a double major in music and religion. Wanting to help others, she went to law school. It was not, she says, a perfect fit with her personality. However, she persevered and graduated from Rutgers School of Law. After practicing law for a short time, she followed a more eclectic path working out of a home office to more easily raise her two daughters. Her work includes a divorce mediation and civil arbitration practice, teaching piano and running a music studio, and creating and managing an e-commerce site. She currently serves as the Secretary for Safe Harbor Access Centers, a nonprofit that helps families in crisis. She rides Arabian horses four times a week and practices martial arts and yoga. Yet, writing remains her passion. “Life is a continuous adventure,” says Ms. Newcomer, “and my writing is an integral part of the journey.”

There is no charge to attend the program, but advance sign-up is requested. Register online at www.bernardsvillelibrary.org and follow the link from Adult Programs, or call the library at 908-766-0118 to sign up.
