Raritan Headwaters Offers ‘Forest Bathing’ In Bedminster
Each session will involve centering, breathing exercises, quiet nature observation and guided meditation.

BERNARDSVILLE-BEDMINSTER, NJ - From Raritan Headwaters: Have you heard of the Japanese practice of forest bathing?
“Shinrin-yoku,” – literally, soaking in the forest atmosphere – is said to produce a feeling of relaxation that promotes physiological and psychological health benefits, from lower blood pressure to a stronger immune system.
This spring, forest bathing is coming to the Fairview Farm Wildlife Preserve, headquarters of the Raritan Headwaters Association (RHA).

“You’ll be encouraged to connect with your senses and experience the beauty and wonder around you as we mindfully explore Fairview Farm,” McGowan said. “We’ll tune in to how our interactions with the land change through spring.
“With no particular agenda other than to expand our awareness and become a part of the forest community, this program may lower your stress levels, boost your mood and improve your creativity and productivity through the weekend,” she added.
McGowan is certified by the Kripalu School of Mindful Outdoor Leadership and Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, Mass.
“Go Outside, Go Within” is designed for people ages 16 and up, and costs $25 per session. To register, go to the Raritan Headwaters events calendar athttps://www.raritanheadwaters.org/events-happenings/ and click on one or more sessions.
