REMEMBRANCE Sunday, November 11

Solemn Service of Remembrance & Thanksgiving at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Gladstone

100 years ago, at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, World War I came to an end. Ever since, November 11 has been known as Remembrance Day, the day on which the people of many nations remember all those who died in battle in defense of freedom – not just in World War I but also in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, and all the wars of the 20th and 21st centuries.

To mark the centenary, on Sunday, November 11 at 9:30 AM, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Gladstone will present a Solemn Service of Remembrance & Thanksgiving for all those who have given their lives for their country in these wars.

If you know of such a person and would like his or her name to be specifically remembered during the service, please send the name (first and last names only and date of death) to parish@stlukesgladstone.org so that they can be included in the service book. They may have been family members, relatives, neighbors, friends, colleagues ….. anyone who died while serving in the armed forces, and not just people from the Somerset Hills – anyone you wish to be remembered on that day. Names can be received any time up to November 6.
