Scholarships Being Offered To Area Students

Bridgewater, NJ -- The Rotary Club of Somerville and Bridgewater is offering a variety of scholarships to area students.

A $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to one senior planning on attending college next year from each of the following high schools:

1. Bridgewater-Raritan High School;
2. Immaculata High School;
3. Somerville High School;
4. Vo-Tech High School.

Additionally, RCS&B will offer a $1,000 scholarship to be awarded to one student of Raritan Valley Community College, who is planning to return to the College next year.

The von Stade Music Scholarship, a $1,000 scholarship, will also be awarded to one senior from among the high schools listed above planning on majoring in music next year. The time and place of the auditions will be announced. Interested seniors are encouraged to see their school’s music director or contact Michael Tarintino at 908-725-0737 for more information and a copy of the application.

Lastly, the RCS&B will offer one $5,000 scholarship to the most deserving senior from all of the high schools listed above.

The scholarship, known as the “Paul F. Davis Memorial Scholarship,” is awarded in honor of Paul F. Davis, a long time member of RCS&B. The Paul F. Davis Memorial Scholarship is awarded in four annual installments, provided the recipient remains enrolled in college and maintains at least a “B” average.

The recipients will receive their awards at a luncheon to be held at the Raritan Valley Country Club, in Bridgewater, at 12:15 p.m. on June 2.
